NBA DFS: Nikola Jokic and top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy basketball picks for June 9, 2021

3 min read

In his second full NBA season, Michael Porter Jr. is showing exactly why he was the top overall prospect in his high school class. He doubled his scoring average to 19.0 points per game and then took his game to yet another level by averaging 23.5 points since Jamal Murray (knee) was lost for the season. Porter Jr. is the Nuggets’ clear No. 2 option behind MVP Nikola Jokic, and he’s become a fixture in NBA DFS lineups. His ability to go off any game should factor into your NBA DFS strategy for Wednesday’s Game 2 matchup between the Nuggets and Suns at 9:30 p.m. ET.

With only game on the NBA Playoff schedule tonight, there is a rather shallow NBA DFS player pool. But Porter Jr. is one of the top NBA DFS picks available as he’s already posted three games of 25-plus points this postseason. Porter Jr. is listed as questionable with a back injury, but coach Mike Malone said he will be “good to go” for Game 2. Before locking in any NBA daily Fantasy basketball lineups for Wednesday’s NBA DFS action, be sure to see the core lineup selections, player pool and NBA DFS strategy from SportsLine’s Mike McClure

McClure is a DFS professional with nearly $2 million in career winnings. He’s also a predictive data engineer at SportsLine who uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every minute of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account.

This allows him to find the best NBA DFS values and create optimal lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They’re a must-see for any NBA DFS player.

And on Tuesday, McClure included 76ers guard Seth Curry as one of his top NBA DFS picks. The result: Curry posted 21 points and two assists to return over 5x value on DraftKings. Anybody who had him in their lineup was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, McClure has turned his attention to the Wednesday, June 9 NBA DFS slate and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.

Top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday, June 9

One of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks for Wednesday is Jokic. Defenses are choosing not to double Jokic, thus limiting passing opportunities so his assist numbers have dropped some in the postseason. But his scoring has increased and the MVP is averaging 31.4 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the NBA Playoffs.

Jokic will continue to aggressively look for his shot with Murray (knee) out and Will Barton (hamstring) questionable. They rank second and fourth, respectively, on Denver in scoring so more points from Jokic helps fill those voids. Jokic has had some monster games against the Suns in his career, including one earlier this season when he posted 29 points, 22 rebounds and six assists. The 22 boards set a new career-high and look for Jokic to supply another standout performance on Wednesday in his first game as league MVP.

Part of McClure’s NBA DFS strategy for Wednesday also includes rostering Nuggets guard Facundo Campazzo, who is coming off a 14-point, six-assist, four-rebound performance in Game 1. Campazzo began the season as a reserve for Denver, but has since started the last 22 games following the season-ending injury to Murray.

The 30-year-old rookie is averaging 10 points, 5.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals through seven postseason games. Campazzo won numerous awards and championships in Europe before joining the NBA, so he is comfortable in the high-pressure games that come in the postseason. He played 36 minutes in Game 1 — the same as Jokic — so he is of utmost importance to the Nuggets. Campazzo isn’t someone that will break the bank for your NBA DFS lineups, but he will give you a great return on investment.
