Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund has invested more than $3 billion in shares of video-game companies, according to 13F filings made with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. 

What Happened: The Public Investment Fund, during the fourth quarter, purchased 14.9 million shares of Activision Blizzard, Inc (NASDAQ:ATVI).

The fund also stocked up on 7.4 million Electronic Arts Inc (NASDAQ:EA) shares and 3.9 million shares of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc (NASDAQ:TTWO). 

At the end of the year, the Activision shares were worth nearly $1.4 billion. The Electronic Arts and Take-Two shares were worth $1.1 billion and $826 million respectively.

A new animated series set in the DOTA universe is on the way from Netflix and Valve. On Tuesday night, the streaming service announced DOTA: Dragon’s Blood and gave fans of the MOBA their first look at the series with a short teaser trailer.

The teaser introduces us to Davion, the Dragon Knight, a skilled dragon hunter and a hero that players will recognize from DOTA 2. After his introduction, Davion races forward into battle with a large dragon, and the trailer cuts to black.

A manhunt is underway after a shooting at a Walmart in Pennsylvania’s Delaware County.

The shooting took place at the Walmart located at 50 North MacDade Boulevard in Glenolden at around 8.30 a.m. on Sunday.

The suspect and a store employee had gotten into an argument, apparently over a video game sale, Darby Township Police chief Mike Sousa told WPVI.

While they were in the vestibule area at the front of the store, the suspect fired one shot at the employee, he said.

However, the shot reportedly missed and no-one was injured.

A first-of-its-kind study from Oxford University has investigated the relationship between well-being and time spent playing video games using novel industry data from two popular video games. The surprising findings revealed a small correlation between longer play-times and positive well-being.
